We don’t get snow very often so make the most of it! Look out of your window at your garden – what do you see? A white sheet covering every last detail in the garden. Brilliant glowing white canvas hiding everything. What ever am I getting excited about? How can a garden that is invisible in the snow possibly be good news?

Snow covered blank canveas
Well, it’s a fantastic opportunity to look at everything from scratch – nothing to colour your judgement, nothing pre-conceived just a plain white sheet! Now close your eyes and imagine what you would like to see in your garden if it were indeed a blank sheet. What do you see? An area for sitting to enjoy the flowers and plants, perhaps somewhere to entertain friends. Maybe there is a pond or pool with the sound of soothing water playing in the background. Perhaps your interest is in growing fruit and vegetables.
In place of the snowman what will you choose as a focal point? Will you use stone and wood to create the features or is steel and glass more your style? Maybe even something more exotic! Now is the chance to imagine what it could be.
Open your eyes again and see that blank canvas – what possibilities do you see? Now is the best chance you will get to start from scratch – get planning that perfect garden for you to enjoy – make it just what you wnat and enjoy using all that extra space!
Have some fun while you are at home and have a go at creating your ideal space today – for the snow may be gone tomorrow!

That definitely gives me food for thought. A snowman focal point would look nice but even better would be a young Adonis (stone of course!) providing me with a pleasurable view to the garden from my office upstairs.
